Problem of excessive supply of knowledge in the conditions of knowledge-based economy

Summary/Abstract: Nowadays special emphasis is placed on the need for continuous knowledge acquisition. The store of knowledge, however, is growing very dynamically, leading to a specific information overload. This phenomenon is widely considered to be positive for individuals, businesses and whole countries but on the other hand excessive supply of knowledge may result in certain negative effects. Namely, it may cause shifts in creative productivity of an innovator, reduce firm’s competitive advantages and also reduce financial viability of investment in human capital.
