Summary/Abstract: The article contains a semantic analysis of the lexeme krew (blood), which is one of the most frequently used somatic expressions in K.K. Baczyński's poetry. Only one meaning bears a positive connotation, namely 'life' (życie). Other meanings are associated with 'evil', 'danger' and ultimately with 'death'. In the semantic description of the word you can observe its rich cultural and colloquial associations. The lexeme krew (blood) is also a common element of phrasal expressions.
