Summary/Abstract: The article includes a description of lexical connotations in K.K. Baczyński's poetry. The subject of the analysis is the lexical unit ciało, in the view of its acquired meanings in the poet's idiolect. There are several distinguished most crucial meaning implications of the analyzed lexeme. The distinguished connotation qualities are proved by other poetic linguistic facts - colloquial phraseology. What adds to the semantic picture of the lexeme under discussion is its view against cultural tradition background. The most significant connotations are: 'materialization', 'resistance', 'impermanence', 'suffering', 'death', 'love', and 'moral revival'. What draws attention is interesting semantic relations that occur between two areas associated with ciało (body) and dusza (soul). It is, however, the issue for separate research.
