Summary/Abstract: The paper presents some models and concepts related to the development of modern science in the context of the strengthening of its social functions. The concept of „technoscience“ is considered in relation to its evolution to present-day dimensions associated with terms such as „social innovation“, „associated social intelligence“, „network society“, etc. Other models and concepts discussed in the article are „postnormal science“, „big science“, Modus 1 and Modus 2 of knowledge production, „postacademic science“, „triple helix“, etc.
