Summary/Abstract: Black Sea is on the strategic route which extending from Europe to the Caucasus and Central Asia region. Within this structure, during the Cold War era the region was seen as an important edge region-between the North Atlantic Treaty Organization - NATO and Union of Soviet Socialist Republics – USSR. After this era a new security envi-ronment and threats has occurred in the region. These new threat sa-re illegal immigration, arms trafficking and supporting of terrorism. In this context, the article will focus on the activities and policies of NATO in the region. Also, the article will take the subject in the con-text of the United States’ approach es towards the region.
