Importance of the Implementation of Occupational Standards to the Development of Human Resource Potential in the Economy of Lithuania

Summary/Abstract: Paper analyses implications of the implementation of occupational standards to the human resource management and matching of supply and demand of qualifications. The research is based on the interviewing of representatives of the business associations and enterprises. This research disclosed the problems and challenges faced by the business associations and enterprises in the design and implementation of the occupational standards and other instruments used in the management and regulation of qualifications. The paper also evaluates potential benefit of occupational standards to human resource management.
