Social responsibility deficiencies of local authorities in local development strategic planning

Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the issues of social responsibility in the local development planning process. In the first part of the article the author defines the concept of local authorities’ social responsibility. Next he characterizes a category of local development and local development management process. Then he links the issues of strategic planning of local development with the idea of social responsibility. The empirical part of the article contains the results of the author’s research. These are examples of such improper conduct of local authorities during the preparation of development strategies, which can be considered as shortcomings of their social responsibility.
