Summary/Abstract: Notwithstanding certain positive events after Helzinki–1975, the general ideology of the Bulgarian propaganda about the Western states continued in its traditional pattern: highly expressed biased, partiality, overexertion of the negative occurrences, while keeping silence of the good processes etc. Tendencies for some overcoming of this purposefulness started in the period 1987-1989. The reasons for that were the changes that occurred in the Bulgarian society under the influence of the Soviet “perestroika”. This changes, however were too limited, inconsistent and with insufficient thoroughness.
