Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to inform archaeologists and historians about results of ex¬cavations, which was realized in summer 2012 on site Glezur near village Špania Dolina. This archaeological research was a part of long-time project tended on understanding of material culture of mining populations in space of upper Gran from the ancient times to early Modern Age. During the excavation was documented old route and eastwards from it was found the stratigraphy of two layers from Middle and Modern Age. Among finds dominated pottery and iron tools. The oldest find represented ancient potsherd dated to the middle Laténe or early Roman Period. Among pottery we found two artefacts from the bottoms of vessels that we can date to the 1st half of 13th century. We also have small collection of the pottery that we can date to 14th – 16th century. Modern Age pottery rep¬resented fragments of jugs, bowls and pots dated to 17th century. Among iron tools we have two knifes, key, rasp, horseshoe, sheep bell, iron parts of wagons and many nails. We can date these artefacts from 15th to 18th century. We suggest that documented route was for the first time used in 13th century when the first people settled in Špania Dolina. The highest point of using this route was in 14th to 16th century. The use of this route termi¬nates in 18th or 19th century.
