EDUCATION REFORM IN BOSNIA HERZEGOVINA

Summary/Abstract: "The situation is going to be equal to disaster if the quality and status of education in BiH are not improved", said the Senior Deputy Representative Donald Hays in an interview to the Slobodna Dalmacija daily a few years ago, painting out that the educational system was old{ashioned, overloaded with information and did not include the participation of students in the instruction. In the opinion of many who are directly involved in any segment of the educational reform in BiH, this statement still ho/ds. Indeed, even a more pessimistic statement could be made today: it will be equal to disaster if the manner in which one is trying to reform education in BiH is not urgently reformed.
