Summary/Abstract: It was a real challenge to pursue the country’s interests while performing skilful balancing acts and switching between resistance and restraint. Thanks to adequate preparation, strategy and determination, that test of skill and savvy was passed with more than a satisfactory grade. As reflected in initial assessments of the Polish presidency’s performance by Members of the European Parliament, an important factor behind the successes scored was its effective cooperation with the European Parliament under co-decision procedure.
