Summary/Abstract: From Experience to Contemplation in Mircea Eliade’s Essays. The present study examines the rapport between experience and contemplation in Mircea Eliade’s journalistic publications from the period prior to his exile. The relationship established by the writer between the two terms is not one of opposition, but of interdependence, just like action and creation are also not in antithetical relation to contemplation. The Romanian thinker cherishes both action and contemplation, considering them to be conducive to real, concrete and experimental knowledge, superior to other comprehension methods.
