Summary/Abstract: Mircea Eliade and the “Insufficiency of Literature.” This study briefly outlines some of Mircea Eliade’s views on the role of literature in the process of knowledge. Originally deemed to be “insufficient” and inferior to art, literature subsequently becomes one of the privileged ways of acquiring knowledge, within the context of the new theories of the imaginary.
