Summary/Abstract: Dimitrie Cantemir (1673-1723), the well known Ruler of Moldavia, was less remarkable as a ruler, as his time in power was short (December 10th 1710 – July 6th 1711), than he was as a man of culture. Among his works, the paper Descriptio Moldaviae is particularly relevant for the history of our Church, precisely the Church in Moldavia, as it offers important data regarding the organization of the Church, its hierarchs and their status, especially that of the Metropolitan, as well as information regarding the relationship of the Church and the Metropolitan with the Patriarchate of Constantinople, etc. This study emphasizes these aspects
