Testimonies about sacral performances: The apostolic library and secret archive in Vatican

Summary/Abstract: The study is devote to research of testimonies about sacral theatre performances which occur in Secret archive in Vatican and in Apostolic library in Vatican. The fi les concern the period 14. – 16 century and mostly can be found in sections in Apostolic Offi ce Regesta Litt erarum Apostolicarum, Central commission for sacral art in Italy (is not declassify) and in roman congregation Regesta Litt erarum super Residentia. The fi les about sacral performances the theatre company Gonfalone in roman Colosseum are in handwriting in codex Vat. 7654 and in the fund Reginense under number 352, from which we know, that they played The martyr of Lord on Good Friday and The Resurrection. On the basis detailed fi les of this theatre company we can reconstruct actor’s dress, theatre eff ects (weight for measure souls, the machine for throw up souls to the heaven), loads for performance.
