Summary/Abstract: It was in ancient Rome, if not before, that Jurisprudence had separated from all-embracing mother Philosophy and became an independent academic discipline. The article points to this descent trying to construe the categories of error in the Roman Law of Sale from a philosophical perspective. It shall be examined how classical Roman jurists sustained their reasoning using philosophical ways of thinking.
