Summary/Abstract: Planning and implementing communication strategies is a major aspect of public health emergency preparedness. An emerging aspect of public health communication is social marketing. According to the authors, this approach uses commercial advertising techniques to promote health outcomes. Resources are available for experience and training in this new and interesting field.
