A European lesson in corporate governance

Summary/Abstract: Even though the European Union moved pretty far with its economic governance model, the crisis has revealed that the economic and monetary union, in particular, stands on rather shaky foundations. Europe was worst hit with problems, especially the eurozone debt. On the other hand, the reform of EU economic governance has accelerated, with emphasis shifted to preventing a repetition of similar tremors in the future by means of increased macroeconomic policy coordination. The author analyses the economic determinants of the European governance model, and formulates proposals for Polish economic policy, Polish EU policy and for the global governance process.
