For the Integrity of Sociology

Summary/Abstract: This article comments on Michael Burawoy’s article “For Public Sociology”. In relation to Burawoy’s overview of the current situation the author underlines the fact that we cannot forget about the differences to be found in all sorts of areas between American and Hungarian sociology. Furthermore opposed to the typology put forth by Burawoy regarding the division of labour within sociology the author draws attention to the need for the unity of the discipline of sociology and to the inseparable nature of roles within sociology.
