Summary/Abstract: Since 2009, Tulcea Institute for Eco-Museum Research and UMR 5602 Géographie de l’Environement – Toulouse (France) have coordinated the project Société et environement durant le Néolithique et les âges des Métaux dans le delta du Danube (Roumanie). Teritoire des Hommes – Territoire de l’Eau. Considering the Danube’s important role in the development of prehistoric communities in northern Dobrudja, this project intends to study the cultural phenomena in this area in relation to the river’s paleogeographic evolution. First, our focus is to make a repertoire of the sites in Northern Dobrudja, situated in the Danube’s vicinity, outlining the area where future research will be developed. In this context, this study intends to discuss several interpretations formulated in time regarding certain Eneolithic sites situated on a segment between Văcăreni and Lunca, Tulcea County.
