Economic conditions of agrotourism farm development based on own research

Summary/Abstract: The survey was carried out in 32 farm in 2008 in Warmia and Mazury voivodeship. Particular attention was paid to farms specializing in agrotourism. Farmers pointed out barriers and factors determining profitability of alternative income sources. The economic situation of surveyed farms was investigated. The survey proved that the short tourism period was the biggest problem, but the main factor determining success in agrotourism was the specialization of activity. The surveyed farms are much larger than average farms in Poland and their economic situation is quite good. Agrotourism can be alternative income source in a farm.
