Genetically modified organisms as chance and threat for natural environment and economy on the global scale

Summary/Abstract: In the introduction of the article the stages of the food production development are discussed. Controversies around the development and utilization of genetically modified organisms are introduced too. Discussions about the notion of genetically modified organism are also explained. The problem of the control of organisms genetically modified in the EU and Polish environmental law system are also discussed. In the end of the article there are analysed the chances and the threats of popularizing of genetically modified organisms.
