Condemnation of communist regime, condition for rehabilitation of victims of communist terror

Summary/Abstract: In this paper the author explains the thesis according to which the condemnation of communist regime is a condition for rehabilitation of victims of communist terror. In order to rehabilitate victims of the communist terror it is necessary to previously disown the communist past, same as the Germans disowned their Nazi past. However, unlike post war Germans, Serbs and Montenegrins today do not want to, or do not have strength to reject their communist past. The author believes that the rehabilitation of politically convicted persons and victims is one of the key preconditions in the process of transition from the authoritarian to democratic order as well as in overcoming the evil of the authoritarian past.
