Summary/Abstract: Suicidality is a behavior of self-hurting nature that refers to cognitive and behavioral characteristics of a person, aiming at death of oneself. Considers several levels or phases: suicidal ideas, preparation works, suicide attempt or suicide completed. Suicidal ideas refer to any thoughts of self-destructive behavior – from unclear thoughts on life ending to concrete plans for suicide performance. Statistic data on suicide attempts and suicides completed, as well as the results of the earlier researches, show that more men commit suicide while more women attempt to. This paper aims to analyze weather there are differences between men and women in terms of suicidal ideas, as assumed starting form of suicidality. The research sample included 150 men and 150 women aged 18-60. Instruments used included Sociodemographic data questionnaire and The Positive and Negative Suicide Ideation – PANSI (authors Osman and associates, 1998). The results given by applying univariate analysis of variance don’t show any difference in suicidal ideas presence considering sex.
