For or against ACTA

Summary/Abstract: ACTA treaty signed by Romania in Tokyo on 26 January 2012, represents, in our opinion, an important step for the acknowledgment of the authorities’ concern for the civilized world, regarding the extension of business criminality in the global and free Internet usage and on the global market with goods and products including intellectual property rights. In this study we make an overview of the main provisions of the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA), the way in which they are stipulated in the national legislation of our country and the controversial aspects over which the Romanian public opinion expresses its fears and discontents.
