Summary/Abstract: This study emphasizes the cultural-ecumenical dimension of Mircea Eliade’s phenomenology as it is connected with archaic and “exotic” religions. The last part of this article deals with Eliade’s analysis of Geto-Dacian (ancient Romanian) religion and its surviving elements in popular mysticism.
