Summary/Abstract: The problem of Time had always been a preoccupation of philosophers and science men. The following paper intends to analyze modernization and the reform of the calendar as this was perceived in the Romanian ethos, making some correspondence with what Time meant to philosophers and anthropologists and, also, to Romanian peasants, in order to show that people live in their own socio-cultural experience related to time, an existence in itself.
