Summary/Abstract: The article reviews the Bulgarian studies in Ukraine and the aspects of its academic and practical application. Its basis is outlined - not as philology of the 'small languages', but as a way of thinking about the national literature, language, culture through the other, a way to look for the interrelations between the languages and the cultures.
