Summary/Abstract: Sicel's approach to Ivana Brlic-Mazuranic's literary work tackles the problem of the relationship between children's and adults' literature in the national corpus of Croatian literature. The approach confirms that the artistic value of the work erases the boundaries between the two literatures, which Sicel, referring to Antun Barac, perceived and emphasized in Ivana Brlic-Mazuranic's work. Among the outstanding features he emphasizes the author's «ethic of the heart» that rests on her ethical principles inherited from her grandfather Ivan, as well as her expression, which together produce a harmony that is the very source of the value of any literary text.
