Three Models of New Fairy Tale Structure

Summary/Abstract: The structure of the traditional oral fairy tale is based on a common, stable model which can be viewed as the stable artistic structure. However, viewed diachronically, there has been a continuous attempt to supplement this model with new, individual ideas. The paper attempts to represent three models of new fairy tale structure in children’s literature by three Croatian contemporary authors, Sunčana Škrinjarić, Nada Iveljić and Višnja Stahuljak. It will also examine the stylistic similarities in their works as opposed to the oral fairy tale tradition.
