Summary/Abstract: The first research effort examining the impact of gender within the judiciary of Bosnia and Herzegovina reflects that judges, prosecutors, attorneys, and court associates bring not only their academic training, professional experience, legal diligence, and good intentions to their work; they also bring their values, beliefs, and opinions. This article examines some of the key findings from this research and argues that democratic judicial institutions committed to the principles of fairness and impartiality need to recognize the importance of continual reform, reflection, and improvement in order to increase impartiality in the delivery of justice.
