Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to reconstruct the Romanian unmarried families’ model in Transylvania between 1850 and 1895. We will focus on three objectives: to reveal the concubinage specific causes, to present their percentage, and to explain the measures taken by church and state to prevent and combat these practices.
