Summary/Abstract: The authors of the article have taken the issue of market valuation of the banking sector in Europe during the crisis. The paper analyses the factors that affect the value. The research was conducted for selected European banks at the end of 2010. In order to verify the impact of interbank loans, profit (loss), equity and market capitalization, the least-squares method was used. The outcome shows that profit (loss) and shareholders’ equity of the company have a significant effect on the market price. The article consists of four parts. In the first and second chapter, the authors characterize market capitalization of banks before, during and after the crisis and its determinants. The third part presents and analyses the linear regression model. The final conclusions are shown in the last section of the article.
