Summary/Abstract: The paper reveals the understanding of learning activities as a concept of the education process and the peculiarities of its formation. Different view points to the conception of learning activities are presented and the main aspects are highlighted. It is connected with IT, digital literacy, electronic learning, and its close relations with digital training contents, learning objects and the virtual learning environments are shown. A hypothetic model of the learning activities conception is presented that embraces three levels: the learning activity as a formation of the learning components (learning objects, teaching methods, environments and participants), the learning activity as organisational process and the learning activity as training of competencies. The learning activity in the context of digital literacy has been considered more in detail and its importance in the up to date knowledge society has been discussed.
