Summary/Abstract: The paper examines crowdfunding, a widespread phenomenon mainly in western Europe and the United States, where it originates. Not covered by Polish law, crowdfunding is a form of financing for all kinds of ideas and projects by a third party – a community – which agrees to co-finance projects, usually without reaping financial reward. The paper presents the pertinent legal regulations and examples of specific projects.
