Summary/Abstract: Often the image of the past is not the creation of professional historians who tend to isolate themselves in the academic „ivory tower”, but rather propagandists, politicians, novelists, filmmakers and cartoonists which also give us an image of past in a pleasant attractive and understandable manner. Representation of History as a cultural and social construct is a matter of skills, and specific lobbying with cultural, politic and economic implications. Any historic fact is a complexity and the manner a historian represent it to the public may create bridges of communication, or grow enemies.
