Summary/Abstract: The question that preoccupies the theory of literature from its beginnings to the present day is the relation between literature and reality. We are aware that everything that was written in a literary work is unreal, imaginary, fictitious but how can we deny that reality did not influence the creation of a literary work and / or that the literary work is a reflection of reality? How are we to interpret fiction and stay insensible about the facts? How are we to recognize faction versus fiction, fiction versus fantasy? The aim of this paper is to point out the relationship and the connection between reality and literature by various degrees of mimesis. As an example we will use the literary creativity of Ivo Andrić, which will be used to set up hypotheses for further research of the authors and about possible worlds of storytelling.
