Summary/Abstract: Market economy turbulences during the First World War had brought many opportunities for corruption practice. Drastic cases of food and army material misuse that occurred in the Kingdom of Serbia and Yugoslav countries of Austria–Hungary Monarchy question the ideal image of liberation war as it has been preserved in collective memory of the Serbian people.
