Some Considerations from a Baseline Exercise on Possible Initiatives for a Sustainable Development in the Southern Mountain Area in Braşov County in R

Summary/Abstract: Efforts devoted to a sustainable development are supporting an evolution in the attitude towards mountain areas whose main lines started to profile in the past two decades. The endowment in natural resources and historical heritage allowed for mountains to be increasingly considered a resource rather than an obstacle to local development, even if their peculiarities call for specific strategies. A strategic evaluation approach could help identifying needs and focusing actions. By summarising results from a previous baseline definition exercise, the paper attempts to identify similarities in the economic context of Municipalities in the Southern mountain area of the Braşov County in România, allowing for grouping them along with relevant policy issues.
