Summary/Abstract: The introductory section, peculiarity of Kosić's Appearance", elucidates general circumstances wherein this founder of sociology in Serbia lived and worked, while the second deals with Kosić's (mainly formalist) definition of the subject of sociology. The next part, „Sociography and Rural Sociology", concerns Kosić's conception of the role and aims of the two scientific disciplines. Thereafter, his „ Sociological View on Economy and Agricultural Economics" is expounded, with a special review on agricultural policy and his interpretation of the global economical crisis between the two world wars. The following unit treats the relationship between sociology and (social) policy, i. e. Kosić's emphasis on the autonomy of science regarding ideological-political influences, while the penultimate section comments his political activity in three key periods. Finally, the concluding part points out to the contemporaneity and pertinence of Kosić's appraisals, and also stresses the importance of reconsidering this distinguished theoretician.
