Summary/Abstract: As an extraordinary connoiseur of the state in Serbian village and the mentality of Serbian peasant, but also as a perspicacious empirical perceiver (and an agent) of turbulent social processes during the first half of the previous century, Sreten Vukosavljević has left in his (mainly voluminous) works not only precious observations on customs, norms and practices prevalent between the two world wars (wherefrom the bulk of his material dates), but he has also offered a series of suggestions for the reconstruction of a peculiar worldview which characterizes Serbian village.
