Summary/Abstract: The objective of the article is an attempt to assess the level of intelligence of public administration in the context of smart cities concept. It is beyond doubt that cities are engines of socio-economic development and that their development brings benefits also beyond the local dimension. Currently, when discussing the issue of development of urban areas, it is not uncommon to highlight a new stage of urbanisation – the stage of smart city creation. Increasingly more cities are nowadays labelled as “intelligent” or “smart”, even though there is no clear-cut definition which would specify the criteria that cities ought to meet to be considered as such. One of the function areas of the smart city is intelligent public administration.
