Summary/Abstract: Aspects from the exile at Costesti of the former professor of history of theatre at the Romanian Royal Art and Music Academy in Bucharest make the object of this article. Being declared enemy of the people by the communist regime Alice Voinescu had been imprisoned for 19 months and later, in 1952 was forced to reside in a village near Pascani. In her diary, Alice Voinescu noted down the hard time she had to go through but also portrayed some people in the village who helped her. This diary and the letters Alice wrote in that times were published in a volume entitled “Scrisori din Costesti”.
