Summary/Abstract: Myths, theories and fiction, whether artistic or not, give meaning to the world, serving as a guide and helping us to survive. Each meaning is provisional yet fundamental, allowing a species, the human species in our case, to live on. It also reflects the adequacy of every species to its reality (cf. K. Lorenz). The meaning which is thus obtained is transformed into the (fictional) reference model for the survival (and, in our case, for the organization of, among other, cultural identities.). This is to emphasize a certain continuity of creating meaning from the elementary to the human species where myth fits, in other fictions, and where imagination plays a "conservative" role for the fictional identity of our attempts to make sense.
