Summary/Abstract: The article presents the modifications brought to the crime of bribe-taking by the new Criminal Code (Law nr.286/2009). It is stated that the new criminal code brings major changes in what regards service or service-related offences, but still considering the dispositions of the effective criminal code and the Law No.78/2000 provisions about the prevention and punishment of corruption. The provision of the new Criminal Code refers to a variety of situations in which a person takes bribe either to fulfill, not fufill , accelerate or delay the fulfilling of an act that is related to his service duties, or to fulfill an act contrary to these duties. There are also changes related to the active subject of the offense and to the sanction limits.
