Summary/Abstract: The paper is a grammatical and semantic analysis of a certain kind of adverbial constructions, e.g. {po polsku, po studencku}. The examined sequences are indivisible into meaningful parts (according to grammar textbooks). Yet, linguists involved in corpora linguistics distinguish prepositions and postprepositional adjectives in these sequences. Similarly, in the ‘Słownik gramatyczny języka polskiego’ (Saloni et al.) the forms ending with {-sku} are given as parts of adjective paradigms, as regularly created (that includes also {blisku} and {wąsku}). The author describes in detail the range of adjectives that can form the above-mentioned adverbial expressions. The adjectives stemming from personal and location nouns seem to be much more likely to have real uses in such sequences. Yet, there are also two other contexts that seem to be productive: names of languages and derivative uses ({mówić po, pisać} po etc.), as well as names of dishes. The analysis is based on many examples from the National Corpus of Polish and from the Internet.
