Summary/Abstract: Paper attempts to identify and describe the attitude that Eastern Christianity has towards homosexuality, especially in the context of its treatment of sexuality in general. An overview of available monographs, dictionaries, encyclopedias and readers dedicated to Orthodoxy in connection with the (non) treatment of the phenomenon of samesex love within this religious tradition. This is followed by an analysis of the historical and sociocultural conditions that influenced the formation and the distinctive shape of the Orthodox attitude towards homosexuality. At the end of the paper, several modern cases of the Orthodox attitudes toward LGBT issues are considered.
