The development of entrepreneurship in rural areas with the support of the European Union Funds

Summary/Abstract: The paper presents an analysis of the non-agricultural activity, which is developed in rural areas of the Malopolska Voivodeship with financial support from the selected measures of the Rural Development Programme for 2007-2013 (RDP 2007-2013) . The status of the implementation of the examined measures and selected results of research relating to the characteristics of the beneficiaries of EU grants and developed activities were presented. The analysis of the implementation status shows that the position of the Malopolska Voivodeship against the background of the country varies depending on the measure. Grants support the development of microenterprises to a greater extent rather than non-agricultural projects carried out in farms.
