Summary/Abstract: The article presents an analysis of the state-owned agricultural properties management and the role of state ownership in agriculture. The analysis was based on materials and reports of the Agricultural Property Agency, Central Statistical Office and on literature sources. As a result of ownership transformation, the state as a grower plays nowadays a residual role, while it still plays a relatively large ownership role (approximately 2 million hectares). Admittedly, the amount of land sold by the Agricultural Property Agency has been growing in recent years, like their prices, but further disposals of land from the Stock of the Treasury will be increasingly difficult to conduct, mainly for location and legal reasons. The permanent development of agricultural property of the Treasury may also be impeded by the political turmoil associated with the re-privatization and the participation of foreign capital.
