Summary/Abstract: The publication of the fi rst three volumes of the Complete Works by father Dumitru Stăniloae (including all his articles published in “Telegraful român”) provides the opportunity to examine the main issues of his early work (1930-1945). One of these topics – that, until now, has been neglected in the reception of Stăniloae – is his offensive approach in pastoral theology. The multitude of papers on this subject shows that he pursued a courageous theological program for the renewing of the Orthodox pastoral thought
